Continuing vocational training for professional action in art, culture and cultural education - empirical analysis of fit profiles of offer structures, exploitation interests and benefits using the example of ba Wolfenbüttel (WB-Kultur)

Through their daily work, those active in the field of art and culture support processes of developing creativity, craftsmanship, perceptual and dialog skills, and cultural knowledge in the population, which are of utmost importance for a differentiated and democratic society.

Using the example of the Federal Academy for Cultural Education Wolfenbüttel e.V. (ba), the project WB-Culture deals case-analytically with institutionalization and professionalization processes of continuing vocational training for professionals in the arts and cultural sector. The focus is on the implementation of professional development, the expansion of competencies, and the necessary continuing education programs.

A model will be developed to record, describe and analyze (fit) relationships between institutional, program and offer structures as well as interests, needs, professionalization requirements, utilization and activity profiles of participants.

The analysis is carried out in the methodology of perspective interlacing in order to reveal interactions in the pedagogical arrangement, whereby a total of six perspectives are analyzed individually and in relation to each other: educational, cultural, economic, state political mandate as well as organizational constitution, educational management, program area management, course management, program and participants.

This is a joint project of Leibniz Universität Hannover (Prof. Dr. Steffi Robak), Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (Prof. Dr. Wiltrud Gieseke) and the German Institute for Adult Education - Leibniz Center for Lifelong Learning e.V. (Dr. Marion Fleige).
